A milestone for local peace and order was marked on Friday, November 21, 2025, with the inauguration of the newly built Community Police Assistance Center (COMPAC) in Upper Pitawan, Hingyon. The facility is expected to boost police visibility, improve response time, and deepen community engagement.
The event was led by the Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration – Cordillera PCOL Julio S. Lizardo, together with Municipal Mayor Florencio B. Nalula, Municipal Acting Chief of Police PCPT Christopher I. Lalan, and Ifugao Police Acting Provincial Director PCOL Jeremias G. Oyawon. Local officials, police personnel and community leaders gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and unveiling of commemorative markers adorning the new building.
In the speech he delivered, PCOL Lizardo extended his appreciation to the Local Government Unit of Hingyon, the Ifugao Police Provincial Office, barangay officials, and all partners who worked collaboratively to bring the project to completion. He also gave special recognition to Mr. John Buminaang, whose land donation provided the foundation for the construction of the COMPAC.

Mayor Nalula, in his message, emphasized that the inauguration marks not only the opening of a structure but the beginning of a renewed commitment to peace, security, and cooperation in Hingyon. He highlighted that the facility is the result of collective aspirations for a safer communityโone where every iHingyon can thrive without fear. The mayor also acknowledged the contributions of former PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Gen. Jesus Cambay Jr., Mr. John Buminaang, and PBGen Dilag, whose leadership and support played key roles in realizing the project.
The ceremony included the blessing of the building, officiated by Father Marcs Castaรฑeda, imparting prayers for safety, effectiveness, and guidance for the police personnel who will serve at the new post.
With the COMPAC now operational, the Hingyon Municipal Police Station is poised to strengthen its community policing initiatives, enhance patrol operations, and provide faster frontline services to residents across nearby barangays.#
