Hingyon, Ifugao – The Municipal Local Government Unit of Hingyon โ€“ Tourism Office, under the leadership of Mayor Florencio B. Nalula, in collaboration with the Ifugao State University โ€“ Lagawe Campus (Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management), successfully conducted a Tour Guiding and Service Excellence Training on August 25โ€“29, 2025 at the KALAHI Building, Culob, Hingyon, Ifugao.
Ms. Vanessa M. Pineda, a seasoned tour guide from Kiangan, Ifugao, served as the resource speaker for the Tour Guiding sessions, sharing her knowledge and practical experiences to help participants build the necessary skills to guide visitors effectively and responsibly.
As part of strengthening service culture, the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Training was also conducted in partnership with the Department of Tourism โ€“ Cordillera Administrative Region (DOT-CAR). The sessions were facilitated by Ms. Beth U. So and Ms. Dessa P. Munar, who emphasized the value of courtesy, warmth, and cultural pride as defining traits of Filipino hospitality. The FBSE training highlighted the importance of providing memorable and meaningful visitor experiences that can set Hingyon apart as a destination.
These capability-building programs are part of the LGUโ€™s step-by-step approach to preparing Hingyonโ€™s tourism industry. Alongside ongoing preparations for tourism development, the LGU recognizes that equipping and empowering the community through training is a vital foundation. By nurturing both technical skills and service excellence, Hingyon ensures that its journey toward tourism growth will be sustainable, people-centered, and culturally rooted.#
