A total of 580,000 in cash incentives was distributed to 40 elderly beneficiaries during a payout held on Thursday, facilitated by the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and the Office of the Senior Citizenβs Affairs (OSCA).
Of the total beneficiaries, 21 octogenarians and 17 nonagenarians each received 10,000.00, while two centenarians were granted 100,000.00 each.
The cash incentive is part of the implementation of Republic Act No. 11982, otherwise known as the Expanded Centenarians Act, which mandates the provision of cash incentives to senior citizens upon reaching the ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95, in addition to the 100,000.00 incentive given to those who reach 100 years old.#
