The event featured a keynote address from Director Albert A. Mogol, Regional Director of the Office of Civil Defense – Cordillera (OCD-CAR) and Chairperson of the Cordillera RDRRMC. Represented by Operations Section Chief Mr. Frankie Cortez, Director Mogol emphasized that disaster resilience is a collective responsibility shared by all, not just the government. He highlighted the importance of unity, proactive measures, and confidence in our abilities and potential to build effective resilience. In recognition, Director Mogol was honored with a Sangguniang Resolution officially adopting him as Son of Hingyon, with the name “Kidul.”

The celebration, attended by officials from the provincial government, commenced with a parade featuring LGU employees and officials, barangay officials, accredited CSO members, and national agencies’ personnel. This was followed by a formal program where one of the highlights was the recognition of the achievements of various iHingyons.

Another highlight was the High Angle Rescue Simulation by the Hingyon Emergency Response Organization, in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). This demonstrated the proper technique for rescuing victims from deep ravines.

In the afternoon, a series of traditional games like patintero, and batuhang bola, among others were played.#
