Captured today, November 7, 2024, was the Orientation on Zoning Ordinance Administration at the Municipal Gymnasium. This was facilitated by the personnel from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) led by Mr. Marcial Aloda and was attended by LGU officials and employees, barangay officials, IPMRs and CSO representatives.
The primary objective of the orientation was to present the Municipality of Hingyon’s approved zoning ordinance which is in line with the approved municipality’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP), and to explain to the participants the importance of the zoning ordinance.
A zoning ordinance serves as a vital tool in regulating land use by specifying how properties in designated geographic zones can be utilized—whether for residential, commercial, industrial, or agricultural purposes. It also sets out the types of activities or developments that are permitted or prohibited within each zoning district.
The session concluded with an open forum, where attendees were given the opportunity to raise questions and clarify issues related to the zoning ordinance. Among the concerns raised and clarified were regarding the securing of building permits, locational clearances, and penalties.
All participants were advised to assist in the IEC and advocacy of the zoning ordinance in their respective barangays for wider dissemination to all constituents of Hingyon.
